International power engineering specialist EA Technology LLC has entered an agreement with B.A.R.K. Technologies, Inc. (BTI) to represent its line of electric power assessment instruments and services in five Midwestern states. BTI is a class leading manufacturer’s representative to industrial, commercial, campus, and healthcare customers.

EA Technology’s non-invasive test instruments provide accurate information on the condition of medium and high voltage equipment by measuring Partial Discharge (PD) activity: a globally proven technique to prevent outages by providing early warning of failing insulation in cables, metal-clad switchgear, and transformers. Periodic testing can be conducted without any disruption to the power system.

Barry Samuels, Account Manager for BTI said: “The EA Technology Group has nearly 50 years of experience working with Partial Discharge worldwide. They have built a unique database of thousands of examples of MV and HV plant which have been affected by PD activity, leading to failures and outages. They are the experts in predicting and preventing outages, because they have the greatest knowledge of what causes outages.”

Bill Higinbotham, President of EA Technology LLC, said: “BTI has a powerful connection with customers in this arena and their technical expertise will help customers understand the value that partial discharge testing can bring. BTI’s focus on preventing business interruptions through increasing system reliability has made them the go to company for power quality.”
